JAMMU: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta highlighted various development activities being undertaken by Jammu Smart City Ltd (JSCL).
In a press conference, the Mayor said that execution of works under JSCL intensified from the last one year when JMC Commissioner was made CEO of JSCL.
He further said that the work of development of gardens from Jewel to K.C Chowk is under progress along with the work of making ten Anganwadis Centers as smart centers.
“Numbers of e-rickshaws have been pressed into service in various Wards for which electric charging station at Dogra Chowk near Jewel has been set up under JSCL,” Gupta said adding: “The work of commissioning five cycle tracks at Science College Ground, Gole Gujral, Channi Himmat, Sainik Colony etc is also going on along with commissioning of display advertisement panels and smart lighting at all the four Tawi Bridges.”
After this he talked about intelligent traffic management system, development of Intelligent Command and Control Centre and providing of façade lightning system at Bahu Fort.
The Mayor then mentioned about smart traffic booth in Jammu City, beautification of 23 rotaries, development of light & sound system at Bahu Fort, beautification & modernization of Aquarium at Bagh-e-Bahu and developing of Jammu Tawi River Front on pattern of Sabarmati River Development Front.
“Beautification of Apsara Road, widening & beautification of Talab Tillo Road, developing of Blue Green Projects from Paloura to MBS College and Gorkha Nagar to Railway Station and developing of beautiful wall paintings on the city walls etc are under JSCL,” the JMC Mayor maintained.
He also talked about modernization and beautification of Archaeology Building at Jammu Kala Kendra, developing of multi level car parking facility at Panjtirthi & developing of various other projects under JSCL for making Jammu really a Smart City.
Raj Kumar, Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee and Hardeep Singh Mankotia, Chairman Swacch Bharat Committee were also present on the occasion.
