India reported 14,146 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, informed the health ministry on Sunday. It was 11.5 per cent lower than what the country had witnessed a day before.
According to the latest Covid-19 bulletin of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Sunday, India reported 14,146 new cases in the last 24 hours. It was 11.5 per cent lower than what the country had witnessed a day before. The total Covid caseload in India increased to 3,40,67,719.
The top five states that registered maximum new Covid-19 cases were Kerala with 7,955 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 1,553 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,233 cases, Mizoram with 948 cases and West Bengal with 443 cases.
These five states reported 85.76 per cent of the new cases. Kerala alone contributed 55.48 per cent of the new cases in the country.
A total of 144 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total reported death count to 4,52,124. Maximum casualties were also reported in Kerala with 57 people dying in the last 24 hours, followed by Maharashtra with 26 new deaths due to coronavirus
Meanwhile, a total of 19,788 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brought the total recoveries to 3,34,19,749 across the country. Till Sunday morning, India’s recovery rate stood at 98.1 per cent.
Also, India’s active caseload declined by 5,786 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload stands at 1,95,846.
