Addressing a joint sitting of both houses of Parliament at the start of the budget session, President Ram Nath Kovind said  Centre’s resolve of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” is enabling the country to write a new chapter of development on the basis of democratic values 

“The beginning of a new era of development in Jammu and Kashmir and the Ladakh region is a great example of this,” he said.
