Australia repatriates 29 Indian artefacts ahead of PM Modi, PM Morrison’s bilateral meet

NEW DELHI: Ahead of a virtual meeting between PM Modi and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison on Monday, twenty-nine antiquities were repatriated to India by Australia.

PM Modi inspected the antiquities, which broadly fall in six categories – Shiva and his disciples, worshipping Shakti, Lord Vishnu and his forms, Jain tradition, portraits and decorative objects.

Primarily sculptures and paintings, the artefacts find their roots in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and West Bengal.
