Earthquake hits Afghanistan, tremors felt in J&K, Delhi-NCR; measured at 5.7

SRINAGAR: Strong tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi-NCR, and other areas after an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit Afghanistan on Saturday morning, the National Center for Seismology said.

The earthquake took place at around 9:46 am and was located at the depth of 181 kilometres beneath the surface of the earth. The epicentre of the earthquake was in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region.
