Eye patients operated free of cost by Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Trust

UDHAMPUR: Patients successfully operated on Saturday after screening during free Eye & ENT camp by Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust Udhampur in collaboration with the Udhampur Rotary Eye & General Welfare Foundation and KLSM Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur, were discharged on Sunday.

The screening camp was organized on March 20, 2022 at Village Kaldi in District Udhampur. In this camp, 315 patients suffering from different eye ailments were examined by the medical team of the hospital. Out of these 315 patients, 67 were identified for cataract surgeries. They were brought in the hospital by the members of the trust for further surgical procedures. 154 patients suffering with ENT ailments were examined. 31 patients suffering with hearing loss were provided hearing aid free of cost.

All these patients were operated by Dr Ankur Goel & Dr Sumeru Raina to restore their vision. On Sunday 26 operated patients after follow up were discharged from the hospital.

On the occasion, a conference was also organized in the hospital premises in which Dev Raj Gupta, Chairman; Asha Gupta, Vice Chairman; Dr Yogeshwar Gupta, Trustee; Satish Chopra, Trustee of Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust; D N Sharma, Chairman; S S Kerni, Finance Secretary of Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur along with the operated patients and their attendants were also present. Awareness was also given to the patients about the eye care after surgery so that better vision is maintained in future.

Speaking on the occasion, D N Sharma assured to organize such more camps in rural areas of Udhampur till whole of the district becomes avoidable blindness free.
