India: Rahul Gandhi visits former PM Manmohan Singh at AIIMS in Delhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at AIIMS, Delhi on Thursday. He wished him a speedy recovery.

ongress leader Rahul Gandhi visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi on Thursday to enquire about the health of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He wished him a speedy recovery.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, 89, was admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi on Wednesday after running a fever for two days and experiencing weakness. He was admitted to the hospital for better medical care and recovery, according to Congress party sources.

As per a doctor at the hospital, his condition is stable at present. He has been admitted to a private ward of the Cardio-Neuro Tower in the hospital and is under the care of a team of cardiologists led by Dr Nitish Naik.

In photographs released by PTI, Rahul Gandhi can be seen speaking to doctors at the hospital and also greeting Manmohan Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur.

On Thursday, Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya also met Manmohan Singh at AIIMS in Delhi.

In a tweet, Mansukh Mandaviya said he met former prime minister Manmohan Singh and enquired about his health.
