JAMMU: Comprehensive tour was undertaken by the Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Avny Lavasa on Tuesday along-with Joint Commissioner (A), Joint Commissioner (R&E), Secretary, Health Officer, Executive Engineer, Chief Transport Officer, Sanitation Officer and other field staff to take stock of the various sanitation and hygienic conditions of the whole stretch from Satwari Chowk to Purmandal.
During the tour the Commissioner, JMC took note of sanitation related issues and issued on spot directions to the Health Officer and other field staff to pay proper attention towards the maintenance of the whole area.
The Executive Engineer was instructed to start the work of retaining walls on the edge of some Nallahs and open drains. Similarly, Garden and Parks Section of JMC was directed to maintain the green patches along the whole stretch from Satwari Chowk to Purmandal in coordination with Urban Forestry Department.
Besides, some spots were identified for wall painting and beautification to be done under Jammu Smart City Project. The Health Section was directed to take note of littering hotspots and issue notices to the defaulters like scrap dealers etc.
The Revenue Wing of JMC was directed to start removing encroachments on footpaths by street vendors etc. unauthorizedly.
