JAMMU: Two Pakistani terrorists, reportedly belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad group were killed and an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the CISF was martyred and five have so far been injured in a pre-dawn encounter with terrorits that broke out in Sunjuwan area of Jammu.
Locals in the area panicked with the rattle of AK-47 from both sides early on Friday morning. Intelligence sources informed that the police, already alert for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit in Samba district on Sunday, received an input about presence of two terrorists inside a home in the area.
The police had surrounded the area at midnight after confirming the presence of the ultras.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mukesh Singh said that the police had laid a cordon in the area after inputs about presence of terrorists. “The ultras started firing on the security forces in the dark due to which one personnel died and some were injured. We believe they are hiding inside a home. We had inputs on basis of which the operation was started” said Mukesh Singh.
