Patil discusses poll strategy, current situation with PCC

JAMMU: Several delegations and senior functionaries of the Pradesh Congress and district units called on senior AICC leader Incharge J&K affairs of the party, Rajni Patil.

Patil who arrived from New Delhi at around 12.30 pm straightway moved to the Party office Shahidi Chowk where she held meeting with senior leaders. She was received by the several senior leaders at the office. Party working president Ramban Bhalla and PYC president, Uday Bhanu Chib alongwith others received the AICC leader at Jammu Airport and accompanied her up to office. Later, she moved to the State Guest House and met several delegations till late evening.

A party spokesman said that several senior leaders including Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, Balbir Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Indu Pawar, Ch Garu Ram, Vinod Mishra, Maheshwar Singh, Uday Bhanu Chib, Pawan Raina, several district presidents and heads of frontal organisations met Patil and discussed the issues related to party and present political scenario in the J&K UT.

Some senior leaders also met individually and briefed Patil about the prevailing situation and party activities. The delegations from some other districts had also arrived. Some will meet tomorrow morning. She would leave for Srinagar in the afternoon on Friday and meet leadership of Kashmir.

Patil also discussed issues related to Delimitation Commission, recently held membership drive and strategy for the coming Assembly elections in the Jammu and Kashmir. The issues related to wrong policies of BJP and resentment among the people especially local; youth also came for discussion during the meeting with senior leaders. Patil asked the party functionaries to reach out to the people and project their issues forcefully.

She said party will gear up its activities in the district and block level in coming days. Patil will move back to Delhi on Saturday.
