Two girls, aged 12 and 14, were injured and were sent to Lucknow from Ayodhya District Hospital.
Wednesday when four youths suddenly entered a Durga Puja pandal in the Korkhana area of Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya and opened fire. One of the four youths who opened fire was apprehended by the police and the vehicles of the miscreants were seized.
Two girls, aged 12 and 14, were injured and were sent to Lucknow from Ayodhya District Hospital.
According to the Ayodhya police, it was a case of mutual enmity and all the miscreants had been identified and they will be arrested soon. The arrested youth gave police information on the other three miscreants and four teams of police have been dispatched for their arrest.
Shailesh Pandey, SSP of Ayodhya, said, “Several media houses are saying that the incident is related to Durga Puja. However, it is not true. It was a matter of personal dispute. The reasons for the attack are being ascertained.”
