Ukraine’s Hachiko: Dog refuses to leave side of owner’s body in Kyiv

In an evocative photograph posted by NEXTA media organisation, a dog can be seen sitting by the side of his owner’s corpse in Kyiv region of Ukraine.

According to eastern European media organisation NEXTA, the man was killed by Russian forces and his dog had refused to leave his body’s side thereafter.

The photograph is reminiscent of the story of Hachiko, a Japanese dog who waited for his owner for over nine years after his death in the 1930s.Live TV
