UP Assembly Election 2022 Phase 4 Polling Live: Turnout at 22.62% till 11 am; Harish Rawat alleges ballot tampering

2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election Phase 4 Polling Live News: According to the data shared by the Election Commission, a turnout of 22.62% was recorded till 11 am. The highest average turnout was recorded at 27.44% in Pilibhit, followed by 26.28% in (Lakhimpur) Kheri. Hardoi slipped below Rae Bareli, recording a turnout of 20.13%.

Voting for 59 assembly constituencies spread across nine districts of Uttar Pradesh — Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Banda and Fatehpur — began at 7 am on Wednesday and will continue till 6 pm. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged voters to contribute to “strengthening the democracy.”

Meanwhile, Congress general secretary Harish Rawat Tuesday posted a video on social media, alleging that it shows one person at an Army centre ticking and signing several postal ballot papers. When asked about the tweet, Rawat’s spokesman Surendra Kumar refused to disclose the source of the video but claimed that it is from Uttarakhand. The party has not made a formal complaint to the Election Commission in this regard yet but it can take suo motu cognisance of it,
