West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee appoints Ripun Bora as Assam TMC president.

New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appointed Ripun Bora as Assam Trinamool Congress President with immediate effect.

The former Assam Congress president had joined TMC on April 17.

Bora had recently resigned from the grand old party and in his resignation letter to Congress’ interim President Sonia Gandhi, he alleged that a section of Congress leaders in Assam have been in clandestine link with the ruling BJP leaders and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
